Hello!

I'm currently testing out the QT-immodule patch, so I thought I'd tell
you how it's going so far.

I had some minor trouble installing it on Gentoo, but nothing major.
First of all, just randomly applying the 3.2.2 patch to the original Qt
3.2.2 ebuild didn't work. However, Vik Kumar's ebuild for Qt 3.2.1 with
the appropriate patch worked very well. Thanks a lot, Vik!

Emerging the immodule itself gives a "sandbox access violation", because
Gentoo portage has a problem writing to the install directory. However,
the following command made it work:

FEATURES="-sandbox" emerge quiminputcontextplugin

So all in all, the installation worked out quite well!

Unfortnately, recompiling Qt with this patch seems to ruin anything that
even remotely resembles binary compatibility with the old Qt library.
Which means that I'm currently recompiling kdeedu, kdethis, kdethat...
And will get back to you with some *informative* feedback, and a
screenshot if appropriate, tomorrow.

I can say that it compiled though, and that I'm looking forward to
seeing proper support for input methods in Qt.

Death to XIM!

-David
