You won't have any luck with a 1400x1050 mode on vesa because vesa
relies on the bios for mode setting.  if the bios has no 1400x1050 mode
than you are out of luck.  1400x1050 should work with xfbdev assuming
the fb driver you are using supports native mode setting and can set
that mode.
