amusingly stupid question

well, a couple of them:

a) am I correct in my reading that everytime the contents of a Picture change,
it's serial number should be changed after a call to VERIFY_PICTURE?

b) assuming (a), is this also supposed to apply to (composited) Window
based pictures, or only Pixmap based ones? (if it's supposed to work
like this, btw, it isn't :)

c) asssuming (a) adnd (b), and assuming i wanted an option to cache
certain convolutions (which i do), a Pixmap is the right thing to store
the window in, and not another window, yea? And given that, is there a
good reason for them not to honour the screen_x and screen-y parameters
like windows do, hence hehaving exactly like windows given the same
set of params? (I am aware that this is a really stupid idea on a lot
of systems, btw, hence the word 'option' :)
