Did you build the X distribution with the Freetype rasterizer enabled ? Scaleable outline fonts are now mainly handeled via the Freetype backend... Of course I did. And now, after I disabled all pcf fonts, I get nice antialiased, scalable fonts again. But that's not really the point. Is there any reason why the behaviour seems to have changed from 6.7.99.904 and 6.8.0? There are at least three fonts available as pcf and scalable fonts on my system (with the same name): Courier, Helvetica and Lucida, and I only get the pcf's... This is a configuration issue, not a bug in X.Org. If you require assistance configuring the X server, font server, or fontconfig to give a particular font preference order, please use one of the X.Org mailing lists for help. |
