Description Lukasz Miedzybrodzki 2004-08-21 12:34:47 UTC
Hello

I've X.org 6.8.0 RC2. GF 4 Ti 4200 with last nvidia driver (but on xv nothing
changes)
First problem is xcompmgr. It crashes or simply exits and drop shadows
dissapears. I don't know reason, it looks like it exits/crashes at random time.

Second problem I've noticed is XVideo (xv) extension. When 'xcompmgr -c' is
working overlayed windows are not correctly refreshed. It happens with xawdecode
and mplayer. Movie/tv program is playing in window but when I drag some window
above it areas which was under dragged window are black. I must move
mplayer/xawdecode window to get correct picture. Changing mplayer into full
screen very often ends black screen so I'm clicking F until movie appers. When
video out is X11 movie is playing good on full screen and in window but it is
awfuly slow (Athlon XP2500+).

I dont know if it is driver (nv/nvidia) problem so I'm sending it to
Server/general. Sorry for my English :/

First off, please file separate bug reports if you have more than one problem.

Second, I can confirm the Xv problem but only with mplayer. Xine works fine
(except that the other windows' shadow is visible as a blue border in the video
but that is normal as the colors don't match the colorkey.).

Using the SiS driver with xcompmgr -c here.

I can confirm these problems with mplayer, and I've got another problem with xv
video: in fullscreen and windowed mode I've got no video over refreshed parts
of the screen. For example, if I launch a video with mplayer and I move the
window over the console or I enable fullscreen, there is a black rectangle
corresponding to the line with mplayer output (A: 5,1 V: 5,1 A-V: 0,001 ct:
 0,034 128/128 15% 0% 0,9% 0 0 93%).

same problem here, i can confirm this bug. i'm running CVS from Sept 6 2004
compiled at 5:30 AM -3GMT.
i have a nVidia GeForce FX5700 driver 1.0-6111. it's working with Xine, but not
with MPlayer. this bug is also present in gstreaner-properties (gnome
configuration utility for multimedia), when i select XWindows with Xv the bug is
present, if i choose XWindows No Xv works, but performance is slow.

We need to be sure to paint the color key to the correct pixmap when painting
it, and likely send a damage event for it (unless we had helpers in the AA smart
enough to do this for us).
