Description Patrick Smears 2004-08-26 14:37:06 UTC
When X is started, my machine freezes: black screen, no response to keyboard,
mouse or network (a ping process from another machine, started before X is
launched, indicates that the machine stops responding to pings at the time of
starting X).

As a workaround, downgrading mga_drv.o to an older version fixes the problem.

For full details (including versions, configuration, server log etc), see:

  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=125762

where the issue was originally raised.

The problem is present in at least Fedora Core 1, 2, and Rawhide
(xorg-x11-6.7.99.902-4.i386.rpm).

Whats the status of this bug using a current version of xorg?
Comment 2 Timo Jyrinki 2007-02-22 14:26:23 UTC
Marking broken (status null/blank) bugs in xorg with no activity in a long time as fixed. Please reopen if you think it's necessary, but first do a search if a similar bug report is already filed and in a NEW/ASSIGNED state. These bugs do not currently show in most search results as they do not have any status.
