Description Gioele Barabucci 2004-08-28 09:07:14 UTC
I use a 19" AOC CRT monitor with Mac OSX and X.Org (Fedora Core 2)
Mac OSX set up the screen in a perfect way (few mm from the borders, perfect
rectangle), X.Org no (image is shifted on the right, bumped on the right side,
many mm wasted on top and bottom).

Both OSX and X.Org are set at the same resolution 1024x768 85Hz

Section "Monitor" is set with parameters read from the monitor manual.

  Section "Monitor"
      Identifier "Monitor0"
      VendorName "Monitor Vendor"
      ModelName "AOC Spectrum"
      DisplaySize 360 270
      HorizSync 30.0 - 95.0
      VertRefresh 50.0 - 160.0
      Option "dpms"
  EndSection

The monitor has adjustment controls on it to handle this.

The odds that X will pick exactly the same modeline as OS X on a CRT are very
unlikely.
