Description aptosca 2004-09-21 13:18:37 UTC
If I press and hold control_l and then press and hold control_r, no keypress
event is generated for control_r. If I then release control_l, a keyrelease
event is generated and the "state" of the control key is 'not pressed' even
though I still have control_r pressed. Happens with alt as well.

Very common (for me) in emacs which uses a lot of modifier keys. I touch type
fast enough that It's not uncommon for me to have the paired modifier keys
down at the same time.

Has been in the server for a while. Hummingbird seems to have fixed it. I
reported it to WRQ long ago and they mentioned that it was in the original
xorg code.

Observed recently in both 6.7 and 6.8 on cygwin.

Whats the status of this bug using a current version of xorg?
Comment 3 Daniel Stone 2006-04-16 21:23:18 UTC
unreproducible for me here. aptosca, does this only occur for you under cygwin,
as well?

Ping to the bug submitter!
Comment 5 aptosca 2006-05-09 05:43:40 UTC
I'll update my cygwin today to check. I'll post results and/or close the bug.
Comment 6 aptosca 2006-05-09 11:02:01 UTC
In the latest cygwin (calls itself 6.8.2.0-4), this seems to be fixed for
control but not for alt. With alt_r pressed, no alt_l key events get through, at
least as seen by xev.

Marking broken (status null/blank) bugs in xorg with no activity in a long time as fixed. Please reopen if you think it's necessary, but first do a search if a similar bug report is already filed and in a NEW/ASSIGNED state. These bugs do not currently show in most search results as they do not have any status.
