When I start X, CTRL+ALT++ and CTRL+ALT+- work normally. When I play a game that changes the screen resolution, that works. If the game forgets to set the resolution back, I can't change it back with the CTRL+ALT shortcuts. The Gnome resolution changer still works. Even afterwards, CTRL+ALT zoom doesn't work until I restart the X server. I have a pc104 us keyboard. ------------------------------- >X -version Release Date: 18 December 2003 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0, Release 6.7 Build Operating System: Linux 2.6.7-gentoo-r6 i686 [ELF] Current Operating System: Linux s3 2.6.7-gentoo-r6 #1 Wed Jun 30 19:36:27 CDT 2004 i686 Build Date: 11 July 2004 Before reporting problems, check http://wiki.X.Org to make sure that you have the latest version. Whats the status of this bug using a current version of xorg?
I don't remember how to crash any of the games right now. I assume that there is some sort of "Full Screen mode" that games use? When a game is full screen, I can't change the resolution at all. The problem before was that this persisted after the game died. I don't know how to crash it to recreate it. I tried to segfault an SDL game, but that triggers the SDL parachute which sets the screen back to normal.
Sterling, Ok to close this bug or are you able to produce a test case where this bug occurs?
Um...how about this: Run fceu in fullscreen mode. CTRL++ and CTRL+- don't work while it is in fullscreen mode. (Probably by design? If I knew about how that worked, I might be able to do something.) The problem was that this continued after the game quit. I have no idea how to duplicate the crashing. I guess that you can close the bug.
Marking broken (status null/blank) bugs in xorg with no activity in a long time as fixed. Please reopen if you think it's necessary, but first do a search if a similar bug report is already filed and in a NEW/ASSIGNED state. These bugs do not currently show in most search results as they do not have any status. Sorry for this janitorial spam, you know where to send hate mails to when your inbox gets full of bugs you're subscribed to.
