Description Elliot Paquette 2004-11-04 17:59:26 UTC
I have had a hard time getting any further information about this problem, and
can not say precisely which component is causing the crash.

On a Powerbook3,2 with a Rage Mobility M3 AGP2x, I experience a crash every time
I start an OpenGL application (after the first frame is drawn). The problem
seems to persist regardless of whether or not direct rendering is enabled.

I am not using XOrg CVS, but am using XOrg 6.8.0.

Possible duplicate of bug #1513.
Comment 2 Ian Romanick 2004-11-05 08:39:57 UTC
Does the system actually crash, or does the OpenGL app and X hang? Do you have
another box that you can ssh into the Powerbook? If so, then this is a dup of
#1513.

The other thing you can try is to open two xterms.  In one do "sleep 60 ;
killall glxgears" and in the other do "glxgears". Wait a minute (literally).
If glxgears is killed, then you have a dup of #1513.

This is fixed in Mesa CVS and will be in X.org 6.8.2.

After reviewing the discussion in the Gentoo forums associated with bug #1513,
this bug is almost surely a duplicate.
